The Armor of God & Prayer

This is a great summary of the theme for this week. Let’s all put on the armor of God and pray for one another!


…and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:17-18‬

I think it’s interesting that the passage about the armor of God ends with instruction about prayer. But in light of the opening of this section about what we are actually battling (For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. V12), it makes a lot of sense. The spiritual armor is invisible. Yes, obvious point haha. The Bible is visible, but you can’t buy a sword-shaped Bible and swing it around in the air.
